Week of April 8 - 12, 2019

Thursday HW
1.  Bring a cereal type box to class ASAP for a measurement/Media Literacy activity.  Only eight students have brought one in so far.
2.  Surface area quiz TOMORROW.  Students should use the in-class activities on surface area of rectangular prisms and a wrapping paper challenge that was also done in class to study.  These were corrected in class and feedback was provided.  Expectations were made very clearly.  The Math Journal and MMS homework are other resources to use for study.
Language:  Shared the Pourquoi Tale writing assignment.  Students received a paper copy and a Google Classroom version, which also has the due date.  Several examples of Pourquoi Tales were read aloud and success criteria for the assignment reviewed.
Math:  completed Triangular Prism Volume note.  Practiced questions involving those polyhedrons in class and conferenced with students to check work and recording methods.
Social Studies:  We finished the some guided viewing notes on page 16 of the booklet.  These concerned the arrival of early European communities to North America, and the reasons for coming here.  The Canada: A People's History" video is available on Vimeo and the Internet Archive -- it's episode one
