3. Haunted Walk form and fee if coming.
4. Spelling Dictation #4 tomorrow. As shown in many of the test packs, the third dictation marked a significant drop-off from the first two, which is probably an indication a that a little more review is required.
5. Addition and Multiplication quiz on Monday October 17.
6. Office Index cards.
7. Book Report due October 20, next Thursday.
8. Spelling text work: page 21, # 1,2,4; page 22 # 6,7,8; page 23 -- copy the note. We had about one hour of class time today to complete this work. I assigned some notebook partners today for Spelling. I noticed when I reviewed the notebooks that there were a considerable number of students not finishing their homework and not recording it in a clear way. I have provided coaching verbally and in writing in all of these instances. It is my idea that another voice from a peer may provide more incentive for some students to focus on their daily work more effectively. I may expand this collaborative effort to other subjects in time, but for now it is a Spelling activity. Feel free to ask your child for a look at their Spelling and Journal notebooks if you are curious about how they are doing.

4. Complete your 2 paragraph news journal entry. The first paragraph is a short summary of the article to which you were introduced, and the second paragraph is a reflection/response to the article. The presenters asked a thought=provoking final question at the end of their presentations which can be used as a jumping off point for this reflection. Students could also make connections (TTT, TTS, TTW) as well. We had three excellent presentations today. Students should have a strong idea of what is required after these three and my two detailed introductions with samples.
5. Order of Operations quiz on Thursday October 13.
